Dr. Dave Scott Carpenter, DDS
Dr. Dave Scott Carpenter, DDS, is a highly respected and accomplished dentist with over four decades of experience in the field. A 1983 honors graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas (now Texas A&M University College of Dentistry), Dr. Carpenter has been serving his hometown community of Beaumont, Texas, since the start of his career in 1983. With a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for advancing the field of dentistry, he has built a reputation as a leader and mentor in both clinical practice and community service.
Dr. Carpenter has been an active member of the Dental Society of Southeast Texas, where he has served in various leadership roles, including president of the eight-county organization. He currently chairs the Peer Review Council, offering valuable guidance to the community. A long-time delegate to the Texas Dental Association, Dr. Carpenter has played an influential role in shaping the future of dentistry in Texas and beyond.
His dedication to giving back extends beyond the dental field. Dr. Carpenter served as president of Hope Women's Resource Clinic for over a decade, leading the organization to expand its reach and provide vital support to women and families in need. He is also a dedicated instructor at Lamar Institute of Technology’s School of Dental Hygiene and serves on the Advisory Committee for the program.
Dr. Carpenter also plays an important leadership role in the healthcare community as a certified trustee on the Board of Trustees for Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. He serves as chairman of the Human Resource Committee and is a member of the Patient Safety and Quality Assurance Council. Additionally, he has served on the staff of Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas, acting as a liaison for cancer patients at the Julie and Ben Rogers Cancer Center, ensuring compassionate and comprehensive care for those in need.
A Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry since 2010, Dr. Carpenter is a graduate of the renowned Kois Center for Excellence in Dentistry. He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the profession, receiving the Dental Society of Southeast Texas Service Award and being named a Texas Monthly “Super Dentist.” He was also nominated for the Texas Academy of General Dentistry’s "Dentist of the Year" Award.
Dr. Carpenter’s philanthropic efforts include organizing dental missions to Mexico and Guinea, West Africa, and organizing the Texas Smiles Foundation, Smiles on Wheels, and the Texas Mission of Mercy. He is passionate about supporting dental and other missions worldwide.
In addition to his professional and community achievements, Dr. Carpenter is an active Bible teacher with over 40 years of experience and has a heart for men’s ministry and discipleship. He enjoys spending time with his wife of 42 years, Debbie, their four sons, four daughters-in-law, and nine grandchildren (with one more on the way). Outside of work and ministry, Dr. Carpenter is an avid golfer.
Dr. Carpenter’s leadership in the dental field, dedication to service, and commitment to his family and faith have made him a highly regarded figure in his community and the profession.
